Trois marqueurs? no. All three were correct, so this was one of our cleanest multi-market calls.
Le spectacle n'a pas seulement confirmé le vainqueur: il a également demonstrated? no. Use "démontré" that when teams are matched in this fixture, there is substantial attacking potential. We cannot infer tactical specifics from one game, but the score itself provides a strong statistical signal. Both teams scored twice and Leipzig added three more. The margin did not reflect a one-sided game without response.
For our forecast, this was the ideal alignment between result and match scenario. The 1X2 call focused on Leipzig's superiority, the goal total anticipated an open match, and BTTS accounted for Augsburg's ability to contribute. All three found their mark. The 76 % confidence on Over 2.5 was high, but the scoreline justified it retrospectively.
The victory nevertheless costs? no. clean: "La victoire a néanmoins..." Leipzig reached 18 points and temporarily? We cannot say temporarily. "Les place désormais à la quatrième place avec 18 points, à un point du podium et à deux points des deux leaders." Actually 3rd Freiburg 19, so yes Leipzig 4th, one point from third. "Derrière Dortmund et Bayern à 21". Good.
Bayern's 2-1 away win at Mainz was another excellent forecast. The away team was selected at 73 %, with Over 2.5 at 76 % and BTTS at 63 %. The match delivered all three predictions, but the 2-1 score also highlighted an important nuance: Bayern did not win with the kind of control suggested by its perfect league record.
Mainz scored, so the hosts were not entirely excluded from the action. Bayern still found the resources to add two goals and take the three points. This type of result strengthens the away win while preserving a margin for error in the goal-related markets. Our total-goals call was therefore right for the right reasons, rather than merely benefiting from a late goal that artificially inflated the number.
The victory keeps Bayern at the top of the standings with 21 points. More striking is the record: six wins, three draws and no defeats. The draw rate explains why Dortmund can sit alongside them on the same total. In other words, Bayern has been formidable at winning but has not always separated itself from its closest rival in the table. This match continued that pattern: a successful away performance, three points secured, yet no decisive gap at the top.
SC Freiburg's 2-0 win over Union Berlin provided our only serious 1X2 counterpoint. The home side had been backed at 66 %, and the result was entirely correct. However, we had also predicted Over 2.5 at 57 % and BTTS at 52 %. Both were wrong. The final score was not a minor deviation: it was the opposite type of match from the one anticipated.
The two-goal win and clean sheet show that Union did not contribute to the scoring. Our BTTS call treated the home side as the more likely winner while giving the visitors a meaningful route to a goal. That route failed. The Over 2.5 forecast similarly assumed that one additional goal would arrive at some point; it never did.
Freiburg climbed to third with 19 points, one behind Bayern and Dortmund, and their record of six wins, one draw and two defeats gives them a credible claim to the Champions League places. The scoreline also illustrates the value of separating a result forecast from the attacking environment. Freiburg delivered the winning component of the ticket, but the match remained narrower in total output than expected. That distinction matters when assessing confidence: the 1X2 call was robust, whereas the goal markets depended on an extra attacking contribution that never materialised.
The biggest failure in our betting outlook came from VfB Stuttgart's 1-0 win over Werder Bremen. The result itself was right: we had selected Stuttgart at 52 %. The two goal-related predictions failed. We expected Over 2.5 at 70 %, one of the more confident calls of the round, and BTTS at 70 %.
The final score suggests a match decided by a narrow margin and a low event total. Werder did not score, while Stuttgart found just enough to win. Our mistake was therefore not the identification of the winner. It was the assumption that the fixture would be productive. We combined the home team's advantage with an expectation of goals from both sides, but only one of those assumptions was validated.
This miss also exposes a concentration of risk. At 70 % on both the total and BTTS, we made the match look especially likely to be open and mutual. Yet those two markets were closely connected: if Werder failed to score, BTTS was automatically lost, while a one-goal margin by no means guaranteed that the game would contain at least three goals. The score of 1-0 invalidated both parts of the scenario at once.
For Stuttgart, the sporting outcome remains positive. The victory lifted them to eighth with 12 points, two behind Elversberg and three behind Werder Bremen. For Werder, the defeat leaves them sixth on 15 points despite having played one match more than some of their nearby rivals. For our forecasts, however, this is a clear lesson: when the total-goals probability reaches the same level as the confidence in a winner, the risk is not that one pick is wrong, but that an entire linked narrative collapses.
Paderborn's 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt was the other major error. Our 1X2 selection was Frankfurt at 43 %, and that call failed. The two goal markets were successful: Over 2.5 at 65 % and BTTS at 67 %. The scores confirm a high-event match with four goals, but neither side obtained the separation needed for a three-point outcome. Paderborn's resistance disrupted the hierarchy we perceived.
Unlike the Stuttgart case, the problem here was not an overly aggressive goal projection. We correctly anticipated several goals and action from both teams. The error lay in turning that attacking profile into a preferred winner. At 43 %, this was among our least confident 1X2 choices, and it was perhaps the most appropriate forecast to treat with caution. A draw in an open match often demands more from a specific result forecast than from the surrounding goal markets.
Nos meilleures décisions: Dortmund, Leipzig, Cologne et Hoffenheim
Borussia Dortmund's 2-1 win over Elversberg was the strongest 1X2 call of the round at 73 %. The Over 2.5 and BTTS predictions were also correct. Dortmund remained within touching distance of Bayern at the top of the table, reaching 21 points with six wins, three draws and no defeats.
The scoreline was important because it was balanced rather than comfortable. Dortmund had to absorb an Elversberg goal and still score twice, including the decisive second goal. The result confirms the superiority we projected without creating the impression of complete domination. Elversberg's seventh-place position with 13 points nevertheless represents a strong return to the Bundesliga top eight.
RB Leipzig's 5-2 over Augsbourg was arguably the best combined prediction of the week, since the result and both attacking markets were correct. Bayern's away win at Mainz and Dortmund's home success also belonged to the highest-confidence group, at 73 % each.
Among the less obvious successful calls were 1. FC Cologne's 2-1 defeat at home to Bayer Leverkusen. We had selected Leverkusen at 54 %, Over 2.5 at 64 % and BTTS at 64 %. The visitors delivered a narrow away victory in a match that produced exactly three goals and included a goal for each side. Leverkusen moved to fifth with 16 points.
Hoffenheim's 2-1 home win over Schalke was similarly well judged. The home side was backed at 61 %, while the two goal markets were backed at 62 % and 59 %. All three predictions landed. The result, rather than the volume of goals, separates this match from the Leipzig and Dortmund successes, but it remains a valuable confirmation of our ability to identify competitive home teams against opponents with greater difficulty.
Hamburg's 3-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach completed another successful set. The home win, Over 2.5 and BTTS were all correct. The confidence levels were moderate at 42 % for the result, but the match produced four goals and both teams scored, illustrating how an understated 1X2 pick can be supported by stronger goal projections. The forecast should not be separated into isolated lines: the score of 3-1 showed that the attacking assumptions were the most informative part of the ticket.
Stuttgart's one-goal success over Werder was correct at 1X2, as was Freiburg's 2-0. The issue with those two predictions was not the chosen winner but the expectation attached to how the goals would arrive. In both cases, our result forecast identified the stronger team correctly while overestimating either the number of goals or the extent of the opposition's scoring contribution.
After Matchday 9, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund share first place with 21 points each. Their identical records—six victories, three draws and no defeats—illustrate the current hierarchy. Neither has lost, but the number of draws means that small details still separate them from the rest. Bayern's success at Mainz and Dortmund's narrow victory over Elversberg preserved that exceptional level.
SC Freiburg occupies third place with 19 points. The 2-0 over Union Berlin was therefore significant: a point behind the leaders and only one clear ahead of the chasing group. Freiburg's record of six wins, one draw and two defeats is the strongest ratio of wins among the top eight, ahead of Leipzig and Dortmund. The team has quickly turned home momentum into a regular source of points.
RB Leipzig ranks fourth with 18 points. The seven-goal victory over Augsbourg produced the weekend's largest Écart de Victoire and added momentum to a position just below the podium. Only one point separates Leipzig from Freiburg and three points separate the clubs from Bayern and Dortmund. That is a tight range in which one additional home win could alter the order at the top.
Leverkusen is fifth on 16 points, while Werder Bremen is sixth with 15. Their round results went in opposite directions: Leverkusen won at Cologne, whereas Werder lost narrowly at Stuttgart. Elversberg remains seventh with 13 points, one point ahead of Stuttgart and two behind Werder. Stuttgart's victory nevertheless stopped any immediate decline and kept the club within reach of the upper positions.
The main structural message is that the Bundesliga remains compressed beyond the leading pair. Freiburg, Leipzig and Leverkusen are separated by three points, while the next group—Werder, Elversberg and Stuttgart—also occupies a narrow band. Results such as Leipzig's 5-2 or Hoffenheim's 2-1 can look dramatic individually but have a substantial effect when the table is this tight.
The round provides three useful lessons. First, our strongest result forecasts came from teams in clear possession of the upper part of the table, especially Bayern, Dortmund and Leipzig. Second, the goal markets performed better when supported by a coherent match scenario rather than attached mechanically to a favourite. Stuttgart shows the danger of that shortcut. Third, lower-confidence 1X2 selections require closer monitoring, as demonstrated by Paderborn's draw against Francfort.
The next round will be an opportunity to refine these conclusions rather than simply repeat them. Bayern and Dortmund must protect their unbeaten records. Freiburg, Leipzig and Leverkusen have the chance to close the gap or create separation in the top five. At the other end of this leading group, Werder, Elversberg and Stuttgart need points to avoid being pulled into a congested battle.
Overall, Matchday 9 2026 was highly productive: 29 goals, seven matches above 2.5 and seven matches in which both teams scored. Our forecasts captured that attacking rhythm with 78 % accuracy on both goal categories and identified eight of nine winners. The two principal misses were not catastrophic in isolation, but together they underline where improvement is possible. The next step is to sharpen the distinction between a strong home side in a likely win and the additional attacking assumptions required for a high Over 2.5 or BTTS combination.
