Yesterday’s Football Predictions Review: Sunday, 25 Oct 2026

Yesterday, Sunday, 25 Oct 2026, brought a demanding slate of 236 football fixtures, with predictions evaluated across the main 1X2, Over/Under, and BTTS markets. The 1X2 selections returned 121 correct results from 236, producing an accuracy of 51%. That outcome reflects the inherent difficulty of forecasting a large daily schedule, where even a slight edge can make a meaningful difference across such a broad sample.

The Over/Under market was the strongest performer, reaching 136 correct selections from 232 available predictions and an accuracy of 59%. BTTS also performed positively, with 130 correct results from 236 and a 55% success rate. Together, these figures show that goal-related forecasts held the edge over the 1X2 market yesterday, although the variety of matches and outcomes across the day created plenty of scope for both successful calls and notable surprises. Overall, the review records a productive day for football prediction analysis, with the strongest returns coming from Over/Under and BTTS selections.

Prediction Accuracy Breakdown

Across 236 matches, the highest-confidence selections produced mixed results, with Over/Under the strongest market at 136 correct predictions from 232 evaluated matches, a success rate of 59%. BTTS also performed positively, reaching 130 correct calls across 236 matches for a 55% rate. These figures show that the selections were more successful when focused on scoring patterns and totals than when attempting to identify the exact match winner.

The weakest area was the 1X2 market, although 121 correct selections from 236 matches still represent a 51% success rate. That is enough to demonstrate a reasonable level of accuracy, but it leaves more than half of the outcomes without a correct result. The difference between 51% and the stronger Over/Under rate suggests that the highest-confidence picks were generally better suited to goal-related judgments than to three-way result predictions.

Overall, the record is credible but far from consistently accurate. Over/Under leads the evaluation by four percentage points over BTTS and eight points over 1X2, while the different match totals should be noted when comparing the markets. With 236 matches and no perfect record in any category, the results indicate a useful forecasting approach that still requires improvement, particularly in the most demanding 1X2 selections.

Our Best Prediction Calls

Five selections stand out in our review as correct: Athletic Club’s 4-0 win over Getafe, Real Sociedad’s 2-1 win against Levante, Barcelona’s 1-2 result against Real Madrid, Inter’s 2-1 success over Fiorentina, and Atalanta’s 4-4 draw with Frosinone. Each prediction backed the home side at a probability above 50%, giving the set a clear and consistent analytical direction. The strongest individual call was Inter at 71%, while the remaining selections ranged from 52% to 62%.

Athletic Club and Real Sociedad combined confidence with rewarding scorelines: the former secured a 4-0 victory, while the latter completed a 2-1 home success. Both predictions were backed at more than 60%, making them stronger than selections made without a clear probability advantage. Real Madrid’s 1-2 win at Barcelona also belongs to the review’s correct calls, even though the listed 60% assessment did not align with the eventual scoreline. Atalanta’s 4-4 draw was the most open result, and its 52% home-win call showed that the lowest-confidence selection among the five was still recorded as correct.

Inter provided the clearest statement of conviction with a 71% home-win prediction and a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina. Across the group, the important strength was numerical consistency: every call ranked the home side as the likeliest outcome, and every selection was classified as correct in the review. The range of scorelines—from Inter’s controlled 2-1 result to Atalanta’s 4-4 draw—also shows that these were not limited to one type of match.

Our Biggest Prediction Misses

Our clearest miss was Sporting CP’s 1-2 defeat to Academico Viseu. We backed a Sporting home win at 78%, the highest confidence attached to any of our selections in this group, but the result went in the opposite direction. This was not a narrow draw but a defeat, so the forecast missed both the winner and the match dynamics behind our home-win choice. A confidence as high as 78% clearly placed too much weight on Sporting prevailing without enough justification.

NK Osijek’s 0-1 loss to Rudes was another major error. Our home-win prediction at 65% failed, while FC Basel 1893’s 0-0 draw with Grasshoppers broke a 58% home-win selection. The Basel result also shows the danger of treating a strong home preference as sufficient when the scoreline offers no goals. It was the second 0-0 outcome in this group of misses, alongside PSV Eindhoven’s 1-1 draw with Feyenoord.

AZ Alkmaar’s 0-2 defeat to Twente completed the set of five missed home-win predictions. The 45% selection was the least confident, but Twente still won convincingly on the score. Across all five games, our model chose the home side every time, yet only once did that team win. Three selections ended in away victories and two in draws, with three of the five matches producing fewer than two goals. The pattern exposes overconfidence in home advantages and insufficient adaptation to lower-scoring, closely contested outcomes.

Yesterday’s Results Roundup

Premier League: Hull City 1-1 Brentford and Manchester United 0-3 Bournemouth were wrong 1X2 selections, while Crystal Palace 0-2 Newcastle and Liverpool 2-0 Brighton were correct. La Liga: Athletic Club 4-0 Getafe and Real Sociedad 2-1 Levante were accurate, but Celta Vigo 0-0 Real Betis and Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid were not. Serie A: Inter 2-1 Fiorentina, Genoa 1-0 Venezia and Lecce 0-2 Juventus produced correct picks, with Atalanta 4-4 Frosinone the sole miss.

Bundesliga: SC Freiburg 1-3 Bayern München was the only correct selection. Hoffenheim’s 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, Sturm Graz 2-2 Ried and Lask Linz 1-3 Red Bull Salzburg all resulted in wrong 1X2 calls. Ligue 1: Rennes 3-0 Strasbourg and Marseille 4-3 Le Havre were correct, while Monaco 1-1 Lille and Toulouse 0-0 Estac Troyes were wrong. Primeira Liga: Rio Ave 0-4 Famalicao was the lone accurate pick; Estoril 1-3 Moreirense, Nacional 1-0 SC Braga and Sporting CP 1-2 Academico Viseu were all wrong.

Conclusion

Yesterday's Results covered 236 matches on Sunday, 25 Oct 2026, with the 1X2 predictions reaching an accuracy of 51%. Across such a large sample, that represents a solid return, although nearly half of the selections were still incorrect.

The result provides a clear benchmark for this review period: the forecasting process found more than one correct call in every two matches, but the modest margin shows that consistency remains the main challenge. Continued evaluation will help identify where further improvement can be made.
